Russian Criminal Tattoos

Danzig Baldaev was a Russian prison guard for almost 40 years. In this time he took note of the many tattoos the prisoners had, and what they ment. Then back in his flat he would carefully re-draw them.

Some can currently been seen at the Nottingham Contemporary.
